Building Community.

Bland Cares provides financial and volunteer support to
non-profit organizations devoted to serving our community.

Jeremy Vokt, CPA
President

I serve as our firm’s Managing Partner, in-charge of the vision, values and direction of the company. I also provide our clients with outstanding client service, professional advice, and direction that is second to none. I enjoy working directly with the entrepreneur on operational analysis, business strategies and tax minimization, and deferral plans.

I knew I wanted to be a CPA since high school. For some reason I thought that was the only job that used numbers and I loved math and hated reading. Come to find out – someone invented Excel so the math is gone and I have to read all the time.

At home, I love to do things with my wife and boys. There is never a dull moment with 4 boys (including myself), just ask my wife, Renee. When I’m not with them, I love to golf. Fore!

Megan Geissinger, PHR, SHRM-CP
Vice President

Growing up in Columbia, Missouri, Megan Geissinger says her childhood dream was to be a professional ballet dancer, but she ultimately chose a career in human resources to help people succeed.

“I love to support employees so they can be more effective in their positions, hopefully leading to a stronger culture, thus building a successful organization,” she said.

She joined Bland & Associates in 2019 as a Manager in the Human Resources department, with a goal to support their mission of “creating a fulfilling and dynamic workplace culture”.

“I truly consider the employees of Bland my ‘customers’” so I fully intend to support, challenge, and embrace those relationships,” Megan continued.

In 2003, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Management from Truman State University.  She moved to Omaha following graduation and earned an M.B.A. with concentrations in Finance and Human Resources from Bellevue University in 2007.

Cara Zimmer, CPA
Secretary

Cara Zimmer, CPA says her childhood dream was to have her own dance studio. She started as a competitive dancer at an early age and was on her way to a degree in dance and arts management at Oklahoma City University when an accounting class changed her plans.

“I took my first accounting class and being the math and science-minded person I have always been, I was intrigued by the detail and organization of accounting,” she said.

“Some may think that is the most drastic career path change they have ever heard of, but it makes perfect sense to me,” she continued. “I really like numbers, but I also love the challenges, stability, and flexibility this career offers.”

Zimmer currently serves as a Manager in the Bland & Associates, P.C. (Bland) Audit Department, a position she began in 2020. In this role, she is heavily focused on the firm’s health care and long-term care clientele, serving as both the main point of communication with the client and the lead of the team.

More specifically, Zimmer is focused on assurance work, including audits, reviews, compilations, preparing financials, and AUP procedures as well as Medicaid and Medicare cost report preparation and consulting services. She also does assurance work for not-for-profit clients and closely-held businesses and works on HUD compliance audits.

In 2012, Zimmer joined Bland as an accounting intern and went full-time in 2014 as an associate accountant. Most recently, she spent 2 years as an audit supervisor.

Born and raised in Omaha, Zimmer graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in business administration with an accounting specialization from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 2013 and completed her master of accounting there in 2014. She is a Certified Public Accountant and holds memberships in the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA), Accounting and Financial Women’s Alliance (AFWA), and the Nebraska Society of CPAs.

Danielle Senske, CPA
Treasurer

I started at Bland & Associates in the fall of 2010 and currently work in our tax department. I work in all areas of tax accounting, business and personal, with a strong concentration in real estate tax preparation and planning.

Outside of work, I like to do projects around the house with my husband. We have recently taken up the hobby of furniture building, thanks to all of the great ideas on Pinterest! It’s still a major work in progress and we have A LOT to learn.

I have always been involved in charity organizations, but most recently since my nephew was diagnosed with cancer. After his diagnosis there was such a tremendous support to my sister. People who have never met her or my nephew were there offering a helping hand. This really set me on my path towards giving back and being involved in the community. It opened my eyes to the goodness in people and made me want to do the same thing…give back as much as I can. I’m thankful to have the opportunity to be a part of Bland Cares Foundation and I’m excited for the future of this organization!

Kailey Riskowski, CPA, CHFP
Past Vice President

At Bland & Associates, I work in our Audit and Assurance Department which includes coordinating various engagements with our clients, leading teams of staff in our efforts to complete the engagement and following up with our clients throughout the year to touch base, answer any questions, etc. I also work in our Federal Contracting Department which entails serving federal agencies through the performance of services outlined in our statements of work.

I am terrible at singing, but I love doing it. Luckily my kids are fans (they are required to be, ha!)!

Amy Cooper
Director

I joined Bland & Associates, P.C. (Bland) in July 2015 working in the Government Consulting Department as a Business Analyst. I assist our department with access to CMS, assist staff in other capacities, and contribute to various contracts with CMS and CMMI.

Growing up in a small Iowa town showed me the value of helping people, and that is what I have always enjoyed doing. I have worked in many different areas from childcare, summer camps, and estate planning, and I am excited to be a part of Bland Cares Foundation to help non-profits. Outside of work, I enjoy being with family, taking road trips with friends, and enjoying the little things in life.
